I used Cool Edit a lot in college to do radio drops etc. I loved it. It was really just a wav editor. Then Adobe bought it, and I haven't used it since. Although It seems they kept true to the heart of the software. I still prefer what is now called Adobe Audition over Soundtrack. Although, they really are pretty different.

I loved every minute of it. I've been under it twice for various surgeries. I always treated it like a game, seeing how long I can stay awake. Before you know it, someone is shaking you and telling you their all done. It's pretty incredible if you ask me, your out just like that. If only I could go to sleep that well every night.

Is is just me, or is Pages one of the worst apps that Apple has put forth recently?
Designing a newsletter has proven to be one of the worst computing catastophes that I have had in recent years. Pages erased my work multiple times, even after I had saved it. Also, the way the program formats is terrible; Apple has caught the Word syndrome of trying to help you so much with Word processing - guessing what you want to do and doing it for you - that it makes you want to pull your hair out. I also find the interface very counter-intuitive (highly surprising for an Apple app)
Sorry for the rant, but I just lost a lot of money and time because of this half-baked program, and I have to let it out. I had high hopes for Pages and am sorely disappointed. And I thought that only Microsoft could push my buttons like this... :mad:

Would you want Donald Trump as our president? I am really on the fence for this one.
What could possibly have you on the fence? Was it the birther issue? Him taking his casinos into bankruptcy 3 times? His Iraq solution to just "take all the oil"? His China solution to renegotiate? His general I'm a dumb, rich, ****ing American badass attitude? His public feuds with Rosie O'Donnell?
This is the first time I am allowed to vote so I am paying attention to politics more than ever. I mean it would be good to have a completely loaded president so he "can" spend some of his money for the economy, which Trump says he will do.

We all know that all politicians are liars though. Trump has changed his mind about a lot of things such as abortion, socialism, and Obama's health care plan. A little while back Trump voted for the three previous things I said but has recently changed his mind. This makes me think he will be unstable when it comes to decisions as a president. Also I don't take him seriously. So what do you think about Trump for president?

after installing the EFI update and running software update it said no updates.
So I downloaded it directly and tried to update it. It told me I didn't need it.
Trekkie, since your machine and mine came about the same time, ours should be about the same. I checked in Profiler, and didn't need to update the SMC. Have you seen anything useful in the EFI update?

Just the way the title is phrased though it lends support to the rumors that iOS will see a late summer / early fall release as opposed to June/July. We will see.

It was announced, see http://blog.officeformac.com/coming-soon-office-for-mac-2011-sp1/ that with SP1, contacts, calendar and notes can now be synced through iTunes. BUT it doesn't! Anyone know what happened?

It smart for a teen, who is close to my age (20), to get into contact with a friend to get duplicated iPhone 4 cases in white, The look on the back looks original from Apple. I see Apple suing him for selling copy right infringement material. That would suck for him. I also see a issue for a Foxcomm employee letting material go out the door and Apple would get pissed over that. Apple has no power against the people. Only thing they can do is say "Oh well." :D

I apologize if this has been covered before but as a new switcher to the Mac I was wondering if simply dragging a folder from Applications and deleting the preferences are enough for a complete uninstall. From years of working with Windows I've come to expect that programs cannot completely be removed even with uninstallers unless a manual search and destroy is initiated or a cleaner is used. Either the program would leave .dll files in the /system directory or there would be long-lived entries in the windows registry. Do any of these situations exist on the mac or have my years as a Windows user corrupted my thinking? Is there something akin to the registry on OS X?

Just wondering how Japan perceives Apple as a company - if anyone knows. I know they don't like Microsoft (as in Xbox). I can't imagine they sell many Apple computers over there. Ipods a different story?
Last I remember, Japan and Korea tend to show loyalty to Japanese companies, hence Sony playstation doing well in Japan. I also remember reading that iPod is #3 in like Japan, a #4 in Korea or something.

...that has a proper keyboard. A larger screen. A 160 or maybe 250 or even 500 gb hard drive. multiple USB ports, vga and maybe even HDMI. Can multitask, run the Office apps the business world actually uses, play any movie format including HD content, DIvx, H264 etc, browse the web with Safari. Or Firfox. Or Opera. With flash...that works.
Compared to a 'Crappy' netbook, even the cheap iPad is very expensive.
Valid points, honestly. But, what negates your argument is that:
1. the netbook user experience is terrible. (come one, be honest... it is)
2. proper keyboard? really? honestly, dude, we can debate this, but I guess it's a matter of opinion. Netbooks keyboards are too cramped up for me.
3. larger screen? maybe by an inch or so. past that, it's no longer a netbook, it's a laptop.
4. by the time you add a larger HDD, the price balloons to over $600/$700, no? at least that's what I've seen. at that point, you're out of the netbook price range and into laptops again.
5. they all use Windows i.e. What good is a Ferrari body with all the bells and whistles if the engine is from a Hyundai

I hate these ads. Thankfully they have taken it off the Apple front page, it was getting to the point where I feared my Apple bookmark. Apart from them being irritating, negative, uninformative and dull, they do not travel well.
At least the dreadful "Shake 'n' Vac" adverts were dubbed into a local tongue when they played outside of the US.

Ivy Bridge's IGP will have 16 EUs (compared to 12 in SB IGP) along with DirectX 11 and OpenCL 1.1 support. If the clock speeds stay the same, then it would be around 50% faster than the current one, although that isn't that big of an upgrade.
Apple never said they removed the BL KB because it is a luxury feature. In fact, none of us knows why Apple removed it.
My guess is it's either to save battery, or they just needed the last bit of space

Try making a new mail in Firefox 2. You will see a pop up window with a tool bar at the top but otherwise blank.
