You mean when female troops from other countries are "encouraged" to cover up while serving in Muslim countries?
Even if your assertion is true, did you notice that the keyword in your post is "encouraged" and not "outlawed".
If France merely "encouraged" Muslim women to forgo the veil and burqa, I think there's very little I would say against such "encouragement".

and look at the crappy content that they have for streaming. everything is super old. hopefully if apple does this, they would have new content and people wouldn't mind paying more bc the content is better.
Since when is "The other Guys" and "Alice in Wonderland" (2010) old? and for people who said it takes a long time to add to the DVD's and change stuff, it takes 5 minutes after we watch a DVD.

I like that plan. We've only had four people participate in the Doodle poll linked on the previous page, so I'd like to see some more input about people's availability, but Wednesday sounds like a great option for a major MacRumors meet-up!
We'll be at this all weekend if we wait for a consensus (let alone agreement) to emerge, so I say let's go for the 3:00 PM plan, each day, at the western-most lounge area (on the right, as you enter South Hall from the street). Stick a business card vertically in your badge holder with your screen name written on the back, or just "MacRumors" if you're shy. I can probably make it Tuesday and/or Wednesday.

That would be kind of Green IT. We all store copies of files Apple anyway have spinning on their disks. What a waste of disk space on global scale. I would be happy to release my storage locally on my NAS with 1.2TB of purchased music, TV shows and movies.
Not sure how the watermarking can be solved; to my understanding files are DRM free but still contain individual information about my account. When only a reference in my purache history is stored a redownload could apply the watermark again.

I benefit when Google tracks cell phones on the streets surrounding my location to provide me with reasonably accurate traffic conditions. I can then plan my route accordingly.
I doubt AT&T would do this, but if they took the real time data from this App and mapped it to a Google map, I could know when I should start an important call or begin a download of a new song or App. Over time, I could even see changes as AT&T addresses the most common problem areas.
The downside would be having to endure the Verizon TV ads, "Problematic 3G coverage? there's a Map for that" until they go away.
Think I'll just sit tight for iPhone 4GS for LTE.

Before the update my MBP would beachball everytime it tried to wake up from sleep forcing a hard restart. It's been three days since installing and I am prepared to say the the update has fixed the problem. :)
Although my experience has been positive, the track record of this update does not seem too good. I personally have not noticed any increase in temp. Processor whine was always there and can still be silenced with Quiet MBP.

Am I reading that right? Your G5 can't view 1080? it plays fluid on my Dual 2.7. YouTube or Quicktime.
I have a Octo Mac Pro that I barely use and a hex core AMD, there's just something really special to my G5 that I've been using everyday since 2005. I keep it maintained, dust free (air dusters) monthly, also recently gave it a new Pioneer DVD-RW with labelflash. I may get another hard drive for it some day. Plenty of space as it is anyway. Western Digital blue 1TB and 500GB Samsung.
Though I really need to open the G5 cover and check to see what make the pump is.
Most likely you might have the Delphi pump.. I never had the Panasonic when I had my G5 Quad 2.5 years ago, but then again from what I heard and also read on xlr8yourmac.com, very very few G5 Quads had problems with the LCS and leaks, compared to the dual 2.5 and 2.7 models.

<<Unfortunately, Apple is discontinuing support for MobileMe calendar syncing via Sync Services as of May 5th, preventing users from utilizing direct Outlook-MobileMe syncing.>>
I am amazed how a company like Apple can produce such great products while pushing out something as crappy as MobileMe.
I've had pretty good experience with mobile me, tbh...
... But to be even more honest, if I was the one paying for it, I wouldn't be.
It's not the services, it's the price. :/

So I just read up a little on what happened at the Natal/Kinect press conference.
Basically:
- They had everyone put on white plastic ponchos. (Kool-aid, anyone?)
- They had a flying couch and a fake elephant.
- They showed some horrible casual games that had people jumping around their living rooms like spastic idiots.
- They assume that no one has coffee tables.
- They're releasing EyePet and Wii Sports.
- They invented Skype.
Wow, quite an event. I imagine this one will be talked about for quite awhile. :D
Now don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with Microsoft/Xbox in general. But this was just beyond ridiculous. Then again, I'm not really expecting Sony to do much better with "Move". A little, hopefully, but not much. :)

I agree that culture plays a part as well.
But seeing as your from Norway, who is also on the good end of that chart, what are your thoughts on the possibility of mass looting there I wonder?
Most people wouldn't steal food here, but if violent hoarding can be considered 'looting', then I would say the possibility is high under similar circumstances. By 'violent hoarding' I mean disrespecting one-per-customer policies and cutting in lines whilst armed with a shotgun. People here are easily freaked out by the crisis-loving media (don't get me started about the swine flu in 2009), and we have very liberal laws on firearms compared to the rest of Europe.

My guess is they'll time the 6G with the iTV to make some kind of Apple, home/portable theater announcement.
