I almost find it more likely that an oled keyset, similar to this would be stuck in (http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/optimus/) a mac before a entirely touchpad interface, but then again, I'm not an apple exec.
that keyboard looks great. i'd definitely get one if it showed hotkeys for whatever pro app i was in...

I think it's pretty damn impressive considering it's emulated.
Not even sure how much benefit the second core confers in an application like office anyway. What it means is that the top of the range mac now available runs the application as well as the same place/priced machine from 1 year ago, make of that what you will.

I think that for the first 24 hours that a new event video is up it should be for Mac users only. Maybe even require QuickTime Pro.
Either that or just get better servers and/or use bittorrent.

I forgot where I found it, it's been sitting in my Wallpapers folder for a while.
I can upload the original if anyone wants it. :)
EDIT: I just realized the forum software now compresses images... that sucks.

After listening to an Microsoft employee, it doesn't sound bad. I wonder why? :D
Ive always found his comments to be fair, even when he was talking about the ps3 to some gadgets website that goes on his show.

I am considering which version to buy. Is it better to run under Mac OS or Windows 7 via Bootcamp? My computer is MBP 2010 17".
No need to consider. Buy it on Mac, and you get it on Windows too. Buy it on Windows, get the Mac version too. All you need is the Steam app installed in each OS, from www.steampowered.com. The best part is that your save games auto sync between the two sides, using the built in SteamCloud service. You can flip back and forth all you want.

To watch Tv on the iPhone the Mac must be turned on?
So if I go at the office or somewhere else, to watch Tv on my iPhone my MAC at home must be turned on? I don`t think this is a good think! And if I am at home why I have to watch on the small iPhone screen (maybe when going to the toilet, but i cannot think some other home using) instead of a Tv or on my Mac?
I am using Slingplayer right now and the Mac and also the TV set are not required to be on!
I have the same idea with you. Great! Thanks for sharing.
Glad to hear you're using this: I plan to keep it much more aggressively up-to-date than has been the case in the past, but don't hesitate to let me know if you find errors or need clarifications.

When is Apple going to figure out how to implement software patches instead of forcing people to download a whole copy of the OS for every little update?

If the school confiscates your laptop, you go to the police and file charges. FOR WHAT, ENFORCING SCHOOL RULES?
And the school is in big trouble. Technically what they did was stealing. They have absolutely no right confiscating anything. THEY HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO CONFISCATE ON THEIR PREMISES IF THEY BELIVE ITS A RISK TO THEIR INFRASTRUCTURE.
What they can do is prevent your access to the building if your are carrying something which they deem "against the rules". But taking away a $1000+ notebook? That's a serious offense HARDLY
and I wouldn't let it go so easily. File a complain with the school administration, if they don't react, go to the police. I am serious. There are some things which you just can't let slide. THE POLICE WILL TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE, FACT.
You don't have a clue what you're talking about do you...?

A whole year Later ?
Whats the point?
Shouldn't we be seeing the 5 by now?
That's the point. Apple is using this to postpone their introduction of the iPhone 5. I will admit, it has taken them a considerably long time to introduce it in the iPhone 4:mad:. I was hoping they would just focus on getting a black and white 5.

That was pretty distasteful.
We all complain about consuming resources as though it were a religious mantra and then we laugh when we wantonly destroy them like that.
Poor effort.

I'm not gonna lie
As much as I'm the type of person to wait for the new tech to come out before I make a purchase, especially with the IP5 due in 6ish months, I'm really considering getting the White IP4. My current phone is definitely on its last legs and I don't know if I can wait long enough before needing a new one.
And as other posters have said, not every consumer keeps up with the latest Apple rumors. A very small fraction of the populace is aware than a 5th gen iphone is even in development. You can't blame Apple for milking the Iphone 4 for all its worth.

What's being hinted at here strikes me as rather pointless, too.
If Apple maintained databases of who owns what from one humongous library, then streaming it from a centralised repository would make sense *everybody would be listening to the same copy of the same song, and it would save an enormous degree of duplication.
If, however, they decided to continue along the route we're currently going along, in which each individual/household has their own library of music they like, tagged how they like and encoded how they like, then it makes far, far more sense for us to store these libraries locally. The network distance between the user and the stored file (which would anyway be unique to each user) would be a lot smaller, which is a more efficient use of data transfer (i.e. your music is streamed upstairs from your NAS to your computer, requiring a couple 'hops' and only operating in one subnet).

The phone looks good but I don't like the seeing the sensor like that all the time. This whole is that a parking lot or is he driving debate, I can't really tell but I do see his RPM meter not at zero looks like it's close to 10 so he could be idle somewhere?
It's a parking lot and the shot was obviously taken when the sun is still far above the horizon.

I'm still under NDA, so I can't tell you as much as I would like about what was NOT talked about at the SuperMeet, but I will quote one Apple rep that I spoke with after the event: "This is only the first look, wait until we can share the full announcement."
I heard what the execs were saying after the event. There is much more to come. And I can't wait!
P.S. Don't let the negative rumors get you too worried, yet. Those that know, can't say. Those that don't know, are just guessing and enjoy making you nervous. We will all know more soon.

I see the point, but there's a bit of a difference between something not being to your taste and telling the people who run the sites that they're geeks who don't know what constitutes a newsworthy site. :)
If I did complain I'd do it in a way that was at least civil, hehe.
Well, I hope the person who said that appreciates the irony in their statement. I dont know how ANYONE on MR isnt a GEEK. I wear that with total pride:) Stay well dude

I always keep my calendar and contact with MS Office....
Now office 2011 is finally updating.... I might move to Mac side of my machine.
Can iTunes sync with the calendar and contacts in Outlook 2011?

Bah. I can't even be bothered to read to the end of the thread about this nonsense. What's next, a press release announcing the danger of not securing your iPod headphones? Just think, if someone held on to the end of your headphone cable they could use it to follow you from several feet away EVEN IN THE DARK

3D audio cues? How would you get anything above 1D audio cues?
Stereo speakers. Most of use can tell if a sound is in front of us or behind or above or below and we only have two ears. You can make 3D recording with ony two channles but the playback geometry has to be near perfect. Synthetic sound cues are not recordings and it need not be perfect to work. All it would have to convey is any one of six basic directions and the users will all be trained to listen for it carfully and wiling to set up the speakers in exact locations. It might be helpfull to someone who is blind. I know some one who is and he can sometimes tell who enters a room and from where before the person speaks. If this is the target user then it need not be perfect or even natural sounding
