Looks like the EB2 dates for india have retrogressed by two years. I am applying for green card and would like to know if I shouls go with EB2 or EB3.

Hi All,
We are devastated. We got robbed last weekend. We lost everything including our green cards. After 6 years of wait, we got the cards in May. Unfortunately, we did not make any photocopies. We applied for replacement of cards using I-90 forms. Has anyone been in such a situation ?
Please help us with any suggestions.

The right thing to do would be to first report the robbery to Police, which you must have done. Get a copy of that report and get with your attorney or another competent attorney to how to tell USCIS that you have lost your Green card due to Robbery. You can also call USCIS CS number to find out what steps you have to follow in a case like this.
I am no lawyer, so get with a competent lawyer ASAP and get this fixed.

To complicate things further, cloture on 9-11 responders failed by 57-42. Republicans are not willing to let anything go till Tax cuts bill is undertaken.

My wife has ITIN till last year and we filed jointly. This year she has a social security number and we filed using social security number. Return was rejected by IRS saying that my wife's last year's AGI is wrong. Has anyone run into this ? What was the resolution ?
This happened to me as well. The efile will fail because of the switch from ITIN to SSN. I then did not efile my taxes instead mailed it to the IRS. Next year you should be able to efile since the record is straight with the IRS.

I donate blood with the American Red Cross once every 2 months.
The limit that you cannot donate if you visit India is 1 year, per them due to India being infested by (clearing my throat) 'MALARIA'.
You are Ok if you just visitied the Himalayas and got back, though. The virus or whatever that causes it cannot live on high altitudes.
this is a very good idea..but theres only one problem..we had gone to a blood donation drive to give blood..but were not allowed to because they do not take blood from people who have visited third world countries like India in the past 3 yrs.
so we can organise a campaign like this..but blood can be donated only by people who havent visited any third world countires in the past 3 yrs.

You cannot jump to EAD unless you file ur wife I-485 . Before that if you jump to EAD , your wife has to leave the country as she become out of status as you are no more on H1b.

Second, you are obligated to take up employment in your field within a reasonably short time after your green card is approved. I would think that if you had already started a new semester, you could wait until it ended to resume your employment, but not much beyond that.

I got 485 Card production order and welcome notice email yesterday . I am assuming that means I got PR . my company has filed for H1 -B extension last week itself . what will happen to that extension , do we need to revoke/withdraw that petition ?

This is a very good point ,if illegal under guest worker program can pursue a path to a citizenship after 6yrs provided that they can show they have paid taxes, learn English and pass background check...Why can't we ask the same for us, we have entered US legally without breaking any law, are paying taxes and are highly educated let aside learn English. And the senators have agreed about getting in line or behind the line (First in first out) approach for getting Citizenship, we are just asking for GC ;) ?

Correct me if I am wrong...but I believe a bill has to pass in both Senate and Congress and signed by President to be enacted into law. Currently the H1/EB bills are only presented in Senate. Any comments?

If the underlying I-140 for your 485 is from company A, then it's a different story. I think then you are OK. Are you sure that CIS accepted the old I-140 as the basis for your 485?
But like everyone else here said, please check with your attorney. AC-21 is confusing as it is and the compliactions in your situation do not make it easy.
Also be ready for RFEs.
I do have copy of approved I-140 from company A and asked for the old priority dates on Old I-140 when applied for new I-140. Not sure if it matters
