I apologize in advance if people think my post is inappropriate for this thread, but I couldn�t find the older thread I was looking for.
I was wondering what happened with the discussion about the potential impacts of Canadian Immigration on US GC process. I had read before that UCSIC might consider it as an abandonment of the 485 application.
I had applied for canadian immig as a back up and got a medical request form from Canadian Consul. I am planning to go ahead with it. Was hoping to find out if people have been landing in Canada in this post 485 filing world??

I think we should give an option for more than $100 too i.e. a blank field with a validation that it cannot be less than 20$. Also instructions should be given on how to cancel the monthly subscription. Also it should be agreed by the patrcipant that he won't ask for money back and in case he does that we should be putting rules around it such as administrative fees. This would make sure that the fees IV pays to paypal for transactions is taken care of.
My suggestions , doesn' mean that these needs to be implemented , also all those who sign of monthly with proven monthly of minimun 50$ should only be allowed to get into members only forum threads etc etc...again $50 is an example....

I am a UK citizen i came to the US in 2008 (aug) when i married my USC wife,i then returned to the UK until Dec 2008 and have been in the US since under VWP,my i94 ran out in march 2009.
I am aware of the "right" way things should have been done, but here i am illegal still with my wife and children (she has 4) i need to try and salvage something out of this meaning i just want to live normal with my family work just like a regular guy get a driving license etc.
Now i have a clean background check from the UK..1 down many to go isuspect...my wife having 4 children would never have been able to prove affit david of support least not on paper (she is a student and graduates as a RN in may of this year) at which point she would be able to earn enough to do this.
Through all this we have managed to survive as a family its hard with only one working but we get help from her parents and family.
$64,000000 question what should i do?

I have a question regarding the 180 day rule. I am a July 2nd filer, got EAD and AP. I-140 approved long time back in '06. So, I will be meeting the 180 day rule and I-140 approved criteria in jan/08.
My H1 expires in 12/08. In case I transfer my H1 to a new co. sometime next year, will I have to restart my GC process again? or will AC-21 kick in and the process will continue as is with me just waiting for GC and PD becoming current etc. Thanks

You're right on logiclife .... our first concern is whether frist and reid start fighting again. one baby step at a time.....
One good thing I have noticed....I donot know why but Tancredo is not screaming as much from the rooftops right now. I guess he may have realized that the house just overdid things a bit and tipped the balance.
Call me paranoid...but I am wondering the exact same thing that how come Tancredo, et.al. are not making any noises...if you remember last time these congressmen were making a lot of noise and the bill went nowhere, now in hindsight, I think internally they knew that the bill will not pass the senate at that time and were making the most of it. Similarly, the silence is ominous because it means they probably have some surprises lined up at the conference. BTW, do we know who will be on the conference from both the Senate as well as the house? Also, are the conference proceedings publicised?

How did you guys manage to get H1's so recently from H4?
Is there a way that H4 are exempt from the H1 quota?
The H4 to H1 applied in 2006 quota is very slow.Some cases are getting approval even in jan(one of my friends wife got approval last week).
No rule yet to exempt H4 from H1 quota.

Hi Gurus,
I came to U.S in May 2006. The company for which currently I am working (Company A) filed my labor (EB2) in October 2009. The labor got approved in May 2010.
My Visa is expiring in March 2011.
Now the attorney has asked me for the documents to proceed with I140.Hopefully my I140 will be filed in couple weeks.
Now my question is that, I am planning to change my job (to employer B) in September 2010.
Please help with your valuable answers for the following questions:-
1. How long does it take to get the i140 approved?
(Regular/Premium)
Premium should get it done in less than one months
2. What will happen to the PD if employer A withdraws or revokes my I140 approval after I join company B? Can I still carry over my PD?
Once the 140 is withdraws things can become problematic. It is not very safe as per my limited knowledge

Start off your infopass with the following question.

After you are done with all your questions and assuming USCIS hasn't kicked you out of their office, make it clear that you want USCIS to look at your application before others ahead of you in the queue. If they don't, "you will be back" for another infopass.
If you have no intention of answering the questions, then no one is forcing you to do.:p
Making a mockery of a person's anxiety does not really show well on your personality.:cool:

It may very well be a typo. on the card, and everything else may be in order. For example, what does it say on your credit report? If it is the other way round, then there is problem that must be fixed.

Everyone -
I've been going through my own immigration issues like everyone else in this forum. It is really sad to see that immigration bills such as the Visa Re-Capture and others that would have been greatly beneficial to us are making little to no progress. I've been thinking about a way to make a difference for a long time but felt helpless.
It is difficult to shed light on our problems in the media in a way that others (who are not in our situation) can at-least think about the struggles we go through. I'm sure everyone has been contributing in their own way to make our voices heard.
Today, I'm happy to share our small contribution to our issues. We are making a film called "Promise Land" to be released in Spring/Summer 2011 time frame. It's about the struggles that immigrants go through despite being legal and following the law. The film has multiple story lines dealing with family based immigration and employment based immigration.
Of course we would love to tell everyone's stories, but in 1 hour 30 mins we can only do so much. So we have attempted to share stories from our personal experience.
I hope that this movie is at-least a step in the right direction. We just released the trailer on Saturday. You can watch it at:

I used your website to search "USPS Express" and I got the answer I needed very quickly. Thanks for the website..

for cases that has to be filed by overnight courier that is by the USPS Express Mail the center will only pick up mails from the U.S Postal Service once a day and in the morning. Therefore any mail that is not picked up in the morning will be picked only the following day and is given a next day receipt date.

My 180 days have passed and I have an approved 140. My job was filed in 2002 in EB2 as s/w engg. In this job i moved to project manager in IT. Now I am getting a job offer for an awesome company, nice pay and as a program manager. the role is still in IT but it will be more managing.
Would this be a safe bet to take by choosing AC-21?

Nope. Management activities fall into a different job code and you will be breaking AC21 rules by taking up this new role.
If your employer is cooperative and your lawyer is willing write the new job description to fall into the engineering category and not management, you may be OK. But if it is an "awesome" company as you put it, I doubt they will be willing to manipulate your job description.
Anyway, check with them and the lawyer before you give up.
