Hi all,
I got my labour approved in Jun'07 and applied for my I-140 in Aug'07 and have been waiting for it to be approved since then. I have not yet applied for I-485. Also,I am almost reaching my 6th year of H1-B visa(FYI:I have not got my visa stamped yet).
Now my questions are,
1) Will I be able to switch my employer now that I am in my 6th yr of H1-B.
2) If it's OK to switch, how many months are supposed to be left on H1-B visa to transfer to another employer.
3) What will happen if my present employer revokes my GC application.
4) When is the best time to switch as I will get 3 yrs of extension once I-140 is approved.
5) Will I be able to retain my priority date if my employer revokes my GC application.
Please do respond. I look forward to your replies.

hey everyone I was trying to download the swift 3d because a pparently it sweems like a cool one but the download trial wasn't accuriable anyway I looged into the net store and checked the full program, it costs about 159$ so I guess I want to download the trial first to give it a try before spending that much amount of money so if any of you know where to donwlaod it just plz post me a message with the title"FOund what you wanted" on your subjectt space.=)

My company allows me to DIY my h1b renewal for my 2nd 3-year term of H1b. My title changed to SENIOR research engineer from research engineer last year. I have the same duty. When I fill out LCA/I129, which should I choose from:
a. New employment:

c. Change in previously approved employment
d. New concurrent employment
e. Change in employer
f. Amended petition
My wage is ok. Are there any potential problems or things I need to pay attention if I file my H1b extension with new title? or it is perfectly ok?

I have one question about the online AR-11 form.
In the online AR 11 form there is one field called Port of entry and there is drop down box which has many items to select the port of entry. This drop down box has two items related to my port of entry.
MA- BOSTON
MA- LOGAN Airport
Are these really two different airports?
I entered US in the Boston Logan Airport (international airport). Which entry I need to select?

Here's one question I have which I haven't see in any forums so far (perhaps its lurking somewhere .. who knows) ... let me get to the point.
When filing for AOS/485, if the I-140 that was filed prior to filing AOS was pending and gets approved AFTER 485 was filed... should we explicitly inform USCIS that that 140 was appoved ?
I guess USCIS should have that information (of course!) but I am not sure if we should be pro-active and make sure we inform the service center that the 140 was approved ?!

My company is forcing everyone to fill I9 form. I have EAD but maintaining H1 status and did not use EAD. I did some research on I9 and it is no where mentioned that only people with EAD has to fill this. I need Guru's opinion on this.
I just don't want to loose my H1 status in any case.

If one has Green Card based on family preference (son of US citizen), how long he has to stay in USA to maintain his Green Card. I heard it is min 180 days in a year ? Is that correct ?
What are other restrictions ? Does it impact citizeship ?
A detailed answer would be very helpful.
Also If one has Green Card which one if faster router to get his spouse to USA:
1. Applying as daughter in law of US Citizens. Or

2. Applying as wife of person having Green Card

I received a status update email from USCIS yesterday on my wife's pending I-485 application. The status says "On November 5, 2007, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I485 as undeliverable�.
The status used to say "application is pending" as recently as a week ago. If some notice had indeed been returned to them, wouldn't the status have changed around Nov 5, 2007? Could this be an erroneous online status change? We completed our FP back in Oct 2007. we have received EAD, AP, etc. on our address properly, and haven't moved.

What is the point of publishing dates for people to see if they have no relevance?
If they are just for CIS employees to see... why publish them publicly and confuse the deuce out of the entire immigrant community?
If they are "a statement of goals", why aren't these goals being adhered to?

Hi I am going to india on july and I need to get my h1 visa stamped as the previous one expired and at the same time my wife needs to get her h4 visa stamped
now when i return back i am planning to bring my parents on short trip
my question
1.Is it possible to book appoinments for h1,h4,b1 at one shot (one day)
2. Will there be any issue if we go in group in combination of many visa
